“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”
Hello dear friends! It is the third Monday of the month which means a new edition of Monday Morning Blooms with my blogging friends Mary and Lidy. We miss our precious Shirley, and are hopeful she will be able to return soon.
Autumn officially begins one week from today. Even though it doesn’t feel like sweater weather, I have decided it is time to get in the spirit. I love all the warm colors of autumn and a pitcher filled with gold blooms welcomes the season!
I chose this sentimental stoneware pitcher that belonged to my paternal grandmother and most likely came from my great-grandmother. I love its humble country style which is perfect for my arrangement.
Flowers were gathered from near and far. A quick trip to the flower farm provided two varieties of celosia, a couple of bi-color sunflowers, and yellow zinnias. Can you believe with all my zinnias there were no yellow ones in bloom?! My Renaissance Man cut wild native sunflowers from a rugged area of our property to complete the arrangement. My goal was to create an arrangement that was freshly picked and simply placed in a country pitcher! And that is all I did. How easy!
