“So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
Happy Thursday sweet friends! I hope that you all are having a good 2019 so far, sticking to your resolutions, and of course staying warm! With highs only in the forties yesterday and today, it definitely feels like January! I can’t complain because the sky has been sunny and blue! We have swapped things up a bit this week here at Everyday Living. You might have noticed that there was no Tablescape Tuesday…I’ve had a busy week and I ran a little behind! So, this week we are having a Tablescape Thursday! If you saw my Monday Morning Blooms post, today’s post might look a little familiar. The carnations I used are once again making an appearance! Pull up a seat at our simple table for four!
The dinner plates are “Baroque” by American Atelier. I am asked about them often, the last time I checked they were still available at Horchow.com. The Barretts salad plates were a find back in the early fall at a local antique and vintage mall. I first used them here.
The petite Wedgwood pitcher was also a find at the same antique and vintage mall. One of my sweet readers from Madrid, Spain sent me some interesting info on carnations. Dolores wrote me that in Andalusia carnations are the flower par excellence. She said they smell like cloves and, in general, they put some clove seeds in the pot to enhance the smell. I tried it and it works! She said, “Cordoba has a reputation for large carnation gardens … it is very beautiful.” Thank you Dolores for letting my readers and myself know how appreciated carnations are in your country!
