“Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.”
Good Monday morning to all of you! We have had two glorious days of sunshine and it just makes me feel better after all the dark and rainy days we’ve had! You know one thing that always helps brighten the day and bring a little “happy” despite the rain? Flowers! I am here with my creative blogging friends to bring you the first Monday Morning Blooms of 2019! You will find us together the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month! If you are new to Everyday Living, I am so glad you are here and I am extending you a big warm welcome!
The carnation is a species of dianthus and is most often overlooked when choosing flowers. They have charming qualities such as their ruffled petals, wide array of colors, longevity as a cut flower, and very reasonably priced. They are the January birth flower and they also make a beautiful bouquet. I was reading that their fragrance is clove-like, and I had never thought of that, but they do smell similar to cloves.
The tray with the sweet and feminine carnations was placed on the guest room bed. I wasn’t expecting guests, but I couldn’t help but think of my dear friend, Patti. This tray was assembled as I was reminiscing of our almost forty-five years of friendship. She loves fresh flowers, the color blue, a pretty teacup, and sterling…it fits her to a “tea”! And she and I would never turn down a delicious muffin. The cup and saucer were gifts from her many years ago.
