“”For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
Happy greetings to you sweet friends! The last few days have been cold in the Appalachian Foothills of NE Alabama. I have been trying to play catch-up as I am sure most of you are. In between playing and dancing (yes I said dancing) with Ella Mae, I am trying to finish up my Christmas decorating. Today, I am back in the dining room to show you how I have changed up the bay window for the season. I didn’t purchase anything new, I am just using the things I already have in a different way. Seriously, I have way too many Christmas collections but they all hold precious memories and I can’t part with them. I cannot see purchasing anything new when I don’t need it and storage is beginning to be a problem.
You might recall for the past years, the bay window was filled with five slim and flocked trees. It had a magical appearance and many of you commented from year to year about them. But it was time for a change!
The wooden nutcrackers have graced the kitchen porch for years until I moved them to the front porch last year. It is hard to believe I found the nutcrackers at Walmart at least fifteen years ago and have never seen them again. Because they are getting quite old and are needing some repairs, I decided it was time to give them a break from the weather and bring them indoors.
My dining room is somewhat hard to photograph because it is narrow. I wanted to show you the simple pinch-pleated linen window treatments on my front double window because many of you asked. I am really enjoying their simplicity. The bay window is wearing only a pleated topper as you have probably noticed.
Since this is real life, the table is still set from last weekend. If you pay close attention there is a little faux pas. There are eight chairs and only six place settings! I didn’t think about the fact I had moved the two chairs back around the table until I edited photos.
